GREEN EYEBROWS - ADMIRAL ZHENG HE - 1433

This is my third finished sailing vessel, Admiral Zheng He's "GREEN EYEBROWS" cargo and general purpose vessel. The build took two weeks. The wooden hull took one week and the fabric sails took another week. each stave on the sail is glued to the fabric, then tied off on the port side. These ships have eccentric sails, with only one side roped to the deck. It is a model of a 30m general purpose ship which sailed with sixty vessels on the seventh world voyage of Admiral Zheng He and returned to China after a three year voyage in 1433. Zheng and his fleet got as far as Mecca and Mogadishu during the 7th voyage. The kit came from China and cost about $25 postage included. The overall length is 230 mm.
