This is a hand-painted 1/76 Airfix kit of the world's first battle tank, (
Tank, Mk.1 - Male) which I bought at an IPMS Ottawa meeting. I built the tank in one day then spent a week painting it based on photos of the tank at the Bovington Tank Museum. The base is a battlefield trench scene made from a styrofoam floral arrangement brick and white glue and dirt and twigs and epoxy cement to simulate water. This has won two awards and was bought to be part of a travelling display on World War One. It is called "damn tree" because the driver is about to catch the left gun on the remains of a tree. This is based on a photo of a real event from 1916. It is probably the most fun I have ever had with an Airfix kit.
