CHINESE LAKE PLEASURE BOAT

This is a bizarre hybrid plastic and wooden model of a Chinese lake pleasure boat which comes with a motor but no propeller. The hull is plastic with wood grain pattern, and everything else is wood pre-painted with the red details. I added the rear flag and the wooden rudder post and the flags. It took one weekend. Such vessels would have been used by the royals and mandarins and the ruling class on the lakes near Beijing. It is said the first congress of the Chinese Communist Party was held on a similar lake boat. It must have been a very small gathering. The kit came from China and cost about $15 postage included.
