WOOLLY MAMMOTH - MAMMUTHUS PRIMIGENUS

This is an unknown scale from an unnamed Chinese toy company of a Woolly Mammoth  (Mammuthus Primigenus) skeleton. It needed a lot of work to remove the layer of odd crackle paint coating. The right rear leg was broken and reset to make the posture proper and the model stand upright.

The Woolly Mammoth lived in what is now Manitoba and Ontario, and died out abut 10 000 years ago. It is shown as it would have appeared about 100 000 years ago in Manitoba. A partial mammoth with tissue was recently found in Grunthal Manitoba, and was so fresh that blood protein was isolated from the carcass.

UPDATE: This model placed third in the giant CAPCON biennial model contest on 28 September 2019 at the Canadian War Museum in Ottawa. (Collections - Theme (5 models of dinosaur skeletons and fossils))

S 3/6 BAUREIHE LOKOMOTIVE (Revell)

This is the Revell 1:87 (OO/HO) scale kit of the German (Bavarian) Class S 3/6 steam locomotive.
The engines were produced for 25 years (1908-1931), and 159 units were built. This was exceptionally rare. These were express train locomotives with a 2-3-1 arrangement. It was designed by the Maffei company engineers Anton Hammel und Heinrich Leppla. Several were taken by France and Belgium under the Treaty of Versailles. It had a top speed of 120 km/h.

Overall paint is a testers "engine black" with much matting and highlighting. Lights have small clear lenses. Sadly I lost the decals so went with a minimalist marking of just the engine number. Various rust and smoke and dirt powders were applied.

CORVETTE (car) 1957 (Bburago)

This is a 1:24 scale metal body easy kit from Bburago of Italy of the U.S. 1957 Corvette sports car.

I built it on the balcony on a sunny Sunday afternoon in an hour.
